It was with hearts filled with many emotions that we said goodbye to our dear friend and fellow Chordsmen Phonse Chiasson on March 11, 2023. We extend our sincerest condolences to his wife Eileen, and the rest of the family.

Phonse was one of the voices in our chorus’s “lead” section. An integral part of the Chordsmen for many years, he made all members feel welcome and never failed to share a smile, a story, a joke, or a great idea for a Chordsmen project. In the words of fellow Chordsmen Mike Finigan, “we took Phonse’s presence like we take the sunrise in the morning, expecting Phonse to be there always.” He will be sorely missed by all those who sang alongside him.

In 2020, Phonse started a project to bring a dream of his to fruition, the idea of a Chordsmen bursary to assist high school students to continue their education in music. With the support of Eileen Chiasson, we are proud to continue this initiative in his name.
